How do I get a voice note into Gist?
In WhatsApp, Telegram or Messages, press and hold the voice note, tap Share (or Forward, then Share), and pick Gist. You can also open Gist and import an audio file from the Files app.
Which iPhones work?
Summaries use Apple Intelligence, so you need an iPhone that supports it (iPhone 15 Pro or newer) with Apple Intelligence switched on in Settings. On other iPhones, Gist can still give you the transcript.
Does Gist upload my voice notes?
No. Everything happens on your iPhone and nothing is uploaded. See the privacy policy for the details.
How many voice notes can I do for free?
You get 5 free gists every week, and the transcript is always free. Gist Unlimited is a one-time purchase that removes the limit. No subscription.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Open Gist, go to Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy it.
A summary got something wrong
Summaries are made by Apple's on-device model and can sometimes miss or mix up a detail, especially with background noise or several languages. The full transcript is always there to check. If something keeps going wrong, email us and tell us what happened (please don't send the voice note itself).
How do I delete my history?
Go to Settings and tap Delete Everything, or switch Keep History off so nothing is saved.
